We are seeking an ambitiousbachelors or masters student (m/f) to support ourPackaging Specialty Plastics & Hydrocarbons Businessfor our locationin Terneuzen the Netherlands.

This internship offers hands-on experience in a globalinternationaland dynamic environment where creativity analytical thinking andproblem-solvingskills are highlyvalued. Thedepartment that will welcome you is theNew Business Developmentteam part of a global organization focused onProcess & Catalysis R&D. Wesupport various sustainability programs in areas such as Advanced RecyclingDecarbonization andWaste valorization.

Project description:

The internship focuses on Advanced Recycling of Mixed Plastic Waste by scaling up an innovative plastics upcycling concept from laboratory proof-of-principle to more representative experimental conditions. The project aims to generate robusthigh qualitydata on process operability repeatability and product consistency. The results will support downstream process design and economic evaluation. The role offershands-onlaboratory work with strong relevance to industrial sustainability challenges.

Responsibilities

  • You work as part of acollaborativeteam in a laboratorysetting helping designexperimentsandtestsandexecuting them safely and reproducibly.
  • You collect organize and interpret data providing clear summaries and insightstothe research team.
  • You conduct background researchto stay currentwithscientificadvancementrelevant to the project.
  • You preparecleardocumentation reports and presentations to communicate progress andkeyfindings.
  • You supportday-to-daylab technical or project activities as needed to drive innovation and project completion.

Qualifications

  • Currentlypursuing a bachelors ormasters degree inchemistry chemical engineering material science or similar.
  • Good working knowledge of English. Dutch language proficiency is considered a plus.
  • You have experience in a lab environment.
  • You can start betweenJuneandSeptember2026 for a period offive to sixmonths (exact timing to be discussed).
