Job Title: Healthcare Senior Accountant (CWR)
Location: Edison NJ
Duration: 26 Weeks
Job Summary
A leading organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to prepare analyze and review financial statements in accordance with accounting principles. The role involves reconciling general ledger accounts preparing journal entries managing budgets and supporting month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will identify and resolve complex accounting issues while ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform timely reconciliation analysis and adjustments of general ledger accounts
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of account balances with accounting standards
- Research and resolve discrepancies using online tools and source documents
- Maintain detailed support for balance sheets P&L statements and financial reports
- Conduct daily cash reconciliations and escalate discrepancies as needed
- Review vendor statements and ensure proper utilization of credits
- Process and verify accounts payable data accurately and timely
- Prepare and present open invoice registers for approval prior to check runs
- Manage invoice matching voucher processing and document filing
- Execute check runs as per schedule and ensure proper mailing
- Maintain vendor master data ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist in preparation and upload of annual budgets including capital and operating budgets
- Prepare and distribute monthly close calendar with clear timelines
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders including auditors financial institutions and internal teams
- Support audit processes by preparing and analyzing work papers
- Maintain accurate accounting of cash and cash transfers
- Prepare and post journal entries within deadlines with appropriate approvals
- Identify accounting issues and internal control weaknesses and recommend solutions
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years of accounting experience (10 years strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks independently
- Experience working with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Google Sheets Docs and Gmail
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in healthcare or hospital accounting
- Background in Treasury and Debt Management
Education
- Required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Business or equivalent experience
Certifications
- Required: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 8:30 AM 5:00 PM
- 40 hours per week

- Role may involve leading special projects and mentoring junior staff
