Job Summary
Amazon is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join the fast-paced world of Payroll operations. We are not an average retailer and this is definitely not your average payroll position reporting in through Amazon Finance Operations. Were looking for exceptional people with strong auditing skills problem solving skills payroll process combined with payroll system knowledge and customer service passion.
Key job responsibilities
Amazon seeks a payroll resource who will support Malaysia Payroll with at least two years payroll and/or accounting experience in a large customer-oriented corporate environment. Payroll is processed on a bi-weekly and monthly basis in multiple countries and this person will perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility including data compilation and support of the Payroll Team. Responsibilities also include:
- Process end to end payroll of APAC countries payroll (Indonesia Malaysia Thailand Vietnam).
- Equivalent position to a subject matter expert (SME)
- Performs/reviews various analysis and reconciliation.
- Prepares various reports (monthly quarterly and annual)
- Process and pay statutory deductions on time to statutory authorities
- Process new hires terminations and other additional inputs from upstream
- Audit payroll registers shared by vendor and share observations if any
- Finalize payroll before agreed time lines and pay employee on time
- Record relocation transactions third party sick pay and processing of year end.
- Prepare and process year-end tax calculation
- Provides reporting to management on issues projects and process updates
- Monitor deliverables and identifies improvement within the area
- Contribute with adhoc requests and team projects as needed *Includes leading cross-country requests and projects.
- Produce timely responses to employee inquiries
- Resolve all related accounting queries
- Prepare for quarterly SOX audit files to be submitted to controllership team
- Collaborate with HRs and respective stakeholders to discuss the upstream process and align as per standard practice of amazon payroll. *Includes leading cross-country requests and projects.
- Bachelors Degree holder
- Background of 3 years of end-to-end payroll across APAC countries
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Flexible to work in rotational shifts
- Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting or related fields
- Excellent English communication skills verbal and written
- Experience with customer service skills and detail oriented
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
