POSITION: Part-Time Ph.D. Professor

DESCRIPTION: B.H. Carroll Theological Seminary at East Texas Baptist University invites applications for part-time Ph.D. faculty in its three Doctor of Philosophy programs (Faith and Heritage Ministry and Formation and Scripture and Witness). Anticipated needs for 2026-2028 include faculty with the ability to instruct in Counseling Christian Education Chaplaincy Ethics Leadership Missions New Testament Pastoral Ministry Preaching and Theology.

DUTIES:

QUALIFICATIONS: ETBU seeks qualified individuals with a terminal degree and at least 18 doctoral hours in the concentration in which they are teaching. These include the PhD in Faith and Heritage (with concentrations in Ethics Church History Theology and Philosophy); the PhD in Ministry and Formation (with concentrations in Chaplaincy Christian Education Counseling Leadership Pastoral Ministry Spiritual Formation and Worship); and the PhD in Scripture and Witness (with concentrations in Biblical Languages Old Testament New Testament Preaching and Hermeneutics and Missions). Candidates must have a strong commitment to academic scholarship and teaching as well as the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues. All doctoral faculty must have achieved rank of Associate Professor (with five years of experience) or Professor. Candidates must possess an appreciation and commitment to teach in Christian higher education through the integration of biblical faith and learning. Candidates must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Faculty must live lifestyles consistent with the Universitys biblical standards of morality temperance stewardship as well as membership and active participation in the faculty members local Christian church.

Employee shall be cognizant and committed to the values traditions and history of Baptists. Employee agrees that he or she is an active member of a local Baptist church or Christian denominational church and regularly attends as a servant leader and role model for the students of ETBU employee is required to participate in the life of the University via institutional meetings Chapel services prayer emphases discipleship programming committee participation local community ministry/service and campus activities and events. Employee provides active support of the spiritual intellectual and educational ideals values activities and objectives of East Texas Baptist University; and conforms to Christian standards of faith and service.
