Job Summary
The Mundy Companies a leader in the industrial maintenance services and construction fields is currently hiring the following for a 2-3 Month turnaroundposition in the La Porte TX area:
RIGGER
NCCCO/NCCER is a requirement for this position.
Successful candidates will have continuous and current experience as a Rigger in a petrochemical industrial or manufacturing environment. The essential job function of a rigger is to assemble rigging to lift and move various types of equipment and materials and demonstrate the ability to solve problems in rigging loads.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Selects cables ropes pullup winches blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved
- Attaches pullup and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams ceilings and gin pole boom with bolts and clamps
- Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops wire rope and chains to crane hook
- Gives direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled
- Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times. This position requires a strong commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing is also required. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
