Position Title: Travel Respiratory Therapist
Location: Hyannis MA 02601
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Schedule: 3 Days/Week
Shift: Night Shift (07:00 PM 07:00 AM)
Travel Pay Rate: $60/hr $68/hr (Based on experience)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Travel Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. This role includes ventilator management airway care emergency response and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions
- Initiate monitor and wean ventilatory support using lung-protective strategies
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Conduct diagnostic procedures such as ABG draws sputum collection spirometry and capnography
- Administer oxygen therapy aerosolized medications Heliox and high-flow oxygen
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation systems
- Assist with intubations bronchoscopies and conscious sedation procedures
- Provide airway management including suctioning and tracheostomy care
- Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team (RRT) events
- Monitor patients during intra- and inter-facility transport
- Deliver care across patient populations including neonatal and pediatric
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation and ensure charge reconciliation
- Maintain respiratory equipment and supplies
- Support training and precepting of staff and students as needed
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of critical care experience preferred
