East Sussex Pension Fund need a full-time Communications Officer to help support the delivery of essential communications activity. You will be an integral part of building a consistent digital-first culture working on a range of communications to help members and employers find the information and services they need.

The East Sussex Pension Fund manages the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for over 140 employers and approximately 85000 members. This role is responsible for supporting the Pensions Communication Manager in delivering the Funds communications and customer engagement initiatives. You will provide a first-class range of communication services contributing to both internal and external projects with creativity accuracy and thoughtfulness. The Communications Team spans marketing social media traditional media design and the web. Its a busy and varied job with support to help you develop and make the most of your skills. You will be a quick learner and someone who is not afraid to make decisions themselves.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are multi-skilled across all forms of communications: from developing and pitching creative ideas to editing proof-reading and writing; creating content for internet event management intranet and socials to identifying audiences and tracking and evaluating the impact of communications.

  • Understands how to use digital and social marketing.

  • Has the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people in a clear concise and accurate manner changing messages to suit different audiences using influencing and persuasive skills and a variety of channels including digital ones.

  • Can build positive working relationships across departments in a large organisation together with a client-focussed attitude which includes tact and diplomacy.

  • Has experience in a related communications role with experience of pensions a plus (though not a pre-requisite for the role).
