Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
Manages the design and maintenance of the propertys grounds landscaping gardens trees and aquatic life. Manages the activities and daily performance of the Horticulture team. Prepares and manages the departmental operating budget. Prepares Profit and Loss summaries and monthly forecasts for the department. Designs horticultural displays that are aesthetic and functional. Coordinates and schedules plant maintenance and work requests verifying quality workmanship in a timely manner. Manages irrigation frequency and duration processes. Orders supplies plant materials and floral materials. Assists with the installation and maintenance of all plant material within the property. Conducts garden tours as requested answering questions and sharing information about the interior and exterior gardens in a knowledgeable manner. Maintains knowledge of trends and developments within the horticulture industry.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
5 years experience in the landscaping/grounds horticulure or related professional area.
OR
4-year bachelors degree from an accredited university in Agriculture Horticulture or related major; 3 years experience in the landscaping/grounds or related professional area.

Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
Interviews selects and trains employees.

Monitors employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.
Helps direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals.
Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

Keeps up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to the job.
