This is a remote position.
We are looking for a Senior Quality Manual and Automation Engineer to join a technically demanding integrations QA team embedded within a healthcare and enterprise systems program. This is a hands-on role that combines rigorous API and data validation with a clear path toward automation ownership.
You will work under the direction of a QA Lead validating complex integration workflows between internal intake systems and external partners. You will be expected to bring solid proven Playwright automation expertise as a core strength and own and drive the teams automated coverage of the most critical integration flows.
This is a 100% remote contractor position for candidates based in Latin America working LATAM hours aligned to US Central/Eastern timezone.
Key responsibilities:
Automation (Core expectation)
Design and implement automated test coverage for integration workflows using Playwright as the primary framework.
Transition validated manual test cases to automated coverage owning the automation lifecycle for the flows you test.
Collaborate with the broader automation team (Selenium/FlaUI in use) to coordinate coverage and framework alignment.
Structure manual test cases with automation-readiness in mind: clear inputs expected outputs reusable data patterns.
Integration and API Testing
Manually test and validate integrations between internal intake systems and external partner platforms across multiple healthcare service lines.
Inspect parse and validate XML and JSON payloads transacting through middleware integration layers including multi-message transaction flows.
Use Postman to execute and validate API calls inspect responses and confirm correct data flow across systems.
Validate backend data integrity using Oracle SQL Developer and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
Test planning and execution:
Write organize and execute test cases in TestRail covering integration scenarios regression and edge cases.
Log triage and track defects in Azure DevOps including root cause analysis across integrated systems.
Produce daily status reports summarizing test run results and open defects (title owner state and age).
Support UAT cycles and coordinate validation with business stakeholders and external partners.
What we are looking for:
Automation (NON-NEGOTIABLE): Solid senior-level Playwright experience is the top hard requirement. Must be able to architect frameworks not just write scripts. Selenium/FlaUI background is a plus.
API Testing: 6 years in QA/QE/SDET roles with significant ownership of automation frameworks with strong Postman experience constructing requests inspecting XML/JSON validating multi-step flows.
SQL: Ability to write and run queries in Oracle SQL Developer and/or SSMS for data validation and defect investigation.
Integration Testing: Experience validating data exchanges between enterprise systems middleware layers or external partners.
Payload Analysis: Comfortable parsing and analyzing XML and JSON payloads identifying field-level discrepancies and mapping issues.
Tools: TestRail (or equivalent) for test case management; Azure DevOps Jira or similar for defect tracking.
Communication: Strong English written and verbal. Able to document findings and coordinate with technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to have:
Healthcare insurance or regulated industry integration experience.
Familiarity with EDI-like patterns: HL7 X12 or proprietary XML schemas.
Experience with Oracle EBS or similar enterprise platform integrations.
Experience coordinating with external vendors as part of integration testing.
Comfort working in legacy or highly coupled systems with limited test environment isolation.
