DevSecOps Engineer

THALES is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to play a key role in supporting the transformation towards a cloudoperating environment across some of our most exciting and strategically important digital and AI programmes. As part of our UK cortAIx team you will help build secure and evolve nextgeneration DevOps environments that enable cuttingedge AI solutions across Thales.

What will you deliver

Working as part of an agile development team you will design build and support secure resilient cloud environments for Thales UK helping AI product programme and project teams to adopt modern DevSecOps ways of working.

Building & Automating Cloud Infrastructure

• Design and build industryleading cloud infrastructure on Azure and other hyperscale platforms
• Create secure lowmaintenance cloud environments using modern DevSecOps practices
• Develop and maintain tooling to support efficient CI/CD pipelines
• Drive automation to improve development release and deployment processes
• Support release and production environments where required

Maintaining Technical Solutions

• Ensure products are deployed correctly and consistently within established technical rules
• Provide delivery teams with automated tools/scripts to provision compute storage and network resources
• Help define and enhance the technical approach for cloud environments

Securing Platform Infrastructure

• Understand the functional context of products and challenge functional decisions where appropriate
• Embed operational best practice (monitoring backups logging supervision)
• Ensure the squad understands operational constraints and provide training where needed
• Uphold strong security practices across cloud environments
• Communicate best practice and educate the wider Thales UK engineering community

Who are we looking for

• A strong interest in cloud technologies and evidence of selfdevelopment
• Good understanding of IaaS and PaaS
• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure
• Ability and interest in scripting languages
• Experience with Terraform or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with CI/CD tools and build pipelines
• Exposure to application development
• Understanding of cloud design patterns and how to apply them

Desirable Skills

This midsenior role supports several highpriority AI deliverables so it is beneficial if you are:

• Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and technical depth
• An advocate for modern DevSecOps and software delivery practices
• Able to work across multiple concurrent projects
• Collaborative and able to work with wider technical functions to embed cloud solutions across the business

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held however if not currently held it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo achieve and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

To be eligible for full SC you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 some circumstances a minimum of 3 years residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted with additional overseas checks.
