Job Summary
TITLE: High School Music Department Chair (Part-time Stipend Position)JOB GOAL:The Music Department Chair works with school and district administration and teachers in the Music Department to ensure students have access to rigorous and relevant coursework and instructional materials aligned to state standards to successfully meet all graduation requirements and readiness for a two or four year college program or direct entry to the workforce or military. QUALIFICATIONS:1. Valid Rhode Island certification as a Music teacher.2. Five years of successful secondary teaching experience. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of Music program requirements as evidenced by advanced degree course work training and/or professional experience.4. Any exceptions to the above as may be acceptable to the SuperintendentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:1. Prior experience as a Music teacher2. Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with teachers administrators industry and community partners students and families.3. Experience and expertise in program development data collection and analysis program evaluation and reporting.4. Excellent oral and written communication skills and technology use.. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Facilitate the integrity of instruction of Music core curriculum.2. Coordinate the delivery and analysis of common unit assessment data.3. Collaborate with school and district leaders and Music teachers to Identify areas of program improvement and support/monitor progress of improvement areas.4. Develop and manage the Music department budget.5. Facilitate and support team professional learning.6. Serve as a member of the school leadership team.7. Perform other related work as required by the OF EMPLOYMENT: 3 Year AppointmentSchedule to be determined by the School Principal in collaboration with the Assistant Superintendent. Will receive one additional administrative period per day and complete an estimated 40 hours per year for hours required beyond the contractual day to be submitted on time sheet. Compensation $3000 per year for successful completion of job responsibilities. Stipend will be paid in 2 installments December/: Annual based on above job TO: Building Principal Assistant Superintendent
