Job Summary

Overview

Under the direction of the USU Eastern Director of Campus Life the Housing Resident Advisor (RA) is a student leadership position responsible for fostering a positive inclusive and engaged residential community. This is a 4month livein contracted position with primary responsibilities focused on community building within Housing.

Compensation includes a private room meal plan and a monthly stipend. Resident Advisors are expected to work between 210 hours per week and are eligible for additional scholarships as well as other part-time employment opportunities on campus. This position will begin on August 11 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Serve on an on-call team with other Resident Advisors/Hall Directors.
  • Perform Health & Safety Checks
  • Report any incidents
  • Build relationships with residents and be a resource to them
  • Assist in the opening and closing of Residence Halls
  • Stay for the duration of the Spring semester to complete the check-out process
  • Making contact with prospective students through email phone calls and text.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Enrolled as a student at USU Eastern
  • Have no active or pending conduct sanctions through the Director of Students Office
  • Dependable
  • Good communication skills

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants but not necessarily occasional temperature changes. This position requires moderate physical activity including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than one hour per day. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
