About Malabar Systems Alliance

The Malabar System Alliance is a ten year partnership upgrading wastewater treatment across Sydneys south and west to support population growth. It improves treatment capacity at Liverpool and Glenfield Water Resource Recovery Facilities and strengthens network performance. The program enhances resilience reduces environmental impacts and enables opportunities for future recycled water use.

The Opportunity

In this strategic and handson role you will partner with internal stakeholders oversee supplier performance and ensure Malabar Systems Alliance secures quality goods and services at the right value time and risk profile. You will play a pivotal role in building procurement maturity optimising processes and enabling operational excellence across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute procurement strategies across multiple categories.

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle including sourcing tendering evaluation negotiations contracting and supplier onboarding.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support business continuity and longterm value.

  • Collaborate with operational technical and commercial teams to forecast demand and understand procurement requirements.

  • Ensure procurement activities align with governance frameworks risk controls and compliance obligations.

  • Monitor supplier performance through regular reviews and reporting.

  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes tools and reporting.

  • Provide commercial insights to support budgeting and cost forecasting.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Experience in procurement strategic sourcing or supply chain.

  • Strong negotiation skills and contract management experience.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into procurement strategy.

  • Understanding of procurement governance risk management and compliance frameworks.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to enhance processes and workflows.
