The Harborview Injury Prevention and Research Center (HIPRC) has an outstanding opportunity for an INSIGHT Program Operations Specialist-Lead to join our team. This is a temporary full-time position for the period 6/22/2026 8/07/2026.

The INSIGHT Program Operations Specialist Lead is responsible for the management of the Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center summer program for high school students.

This position reports to the HIPRC Program Manager and works closely with the Training & Education Program Specialist and the INSIGHT High School Faculty Lead. The HIPRC administratively sits within the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine in the UW School of Medicine and is a multi-disciplinary specialty center located at Harborview Medical Center Campus. This position will work remotely/online.

  • Instruct and supervise high school interns (70%)
  • Administrative duties related to INSIGHT program including oversight of other program staff members (20%)
  • Serve as liaison to faculty mentors working with INSIGHT program (10%).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in healthcare management business social science programs education or other related field.

Minimum 1-2 years experience managing programs involving student learners curriculum development or educational programs.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in all forms of communications e.g. verbal and written one-on-one and in groups.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word Excel and PowerPoint in particular).

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

  • MPH MSW or MEd degree earned or in progress with an understanding of public health research outreach and communications.
  • Experience teaching supervising and/or counseling high school students or student interns.
  • Experience with a volunteer program public health non-profit organization or NGO such as the Peace Corps.
  • Experience in a public health setting.
