The Superintendent is the companys frontline leader on the jobsite responsible for daily field coordination quality and safety execution and keeping the Project Manager informed of progress inspections schedule risks and constraints.
Responsibilities and Duties
Jobsite leadership & coordination:
- Plan daily/weekly work sequencing and communicate priorities to crews and subcontractors.
- Coordinate subcontractor schedules and confirm readiness (labor tools equipment materials).
- Identify problems early and implement practical solutions; escalate schedule/cost risks quickly.
Safety & quality:
- Maintain safe work conditions; correct hazards; report incidents immediately.
- Lead daily safety talks/toolbox meetings and document attendance/topics.
- Implement quality control in the field; verify work against plans/specs and manage punch items.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
Communication & client coordination:
- Maintain proactive communication with the Project Manager regarding inspections delays constraints and upcoming milestones.
- Coordinate jobsite issues with owner/architect/inspector as directed; support change documentation through the PM.
Field administration:
- Submit daily reports/time/receipts/tickets per company process.
- Support cost control through accurate timekeeping material controls and documenting preventable back-charges.
Qualifications
Required:
- Demonstrated construction field supervision experience (foreman/lead/superintendent level) and ability to coordinate subs and crews.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings/specs; plan work and resolve conflicts.
- Valid drivers license.
Preferred:
- OSHA 30; CPR/First Aid; owner-required QC training when applicable.
- Spanish communication ability.
