Description

White River Materials/ Atlas Asphalt is a heavy highway and civil construction company seeking Heavy Equipment Operators. Candidate must have experience with heavy equipment such as dozers trac hoes graders loaders etc.

JOB DUTIES:

Operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner under varying weather conditions while exposed to dampness fumes dust electrical mechanical and traffic hazards.
Operates one or more of the following pieces of heavy construction equipment skillfully safely and in accordance with traffic laws and regulations: scrapers heavy graders motor graders or blades large trenchers rock cutters front end loaders heavy steel wheeled rollers bulldozers screed operator milling operator paver operator excavator operator and other light weight medium weight and heavy-duty equipment.
Routine maintenance on the equipment to include keeping equipment clean and operable.
Communicate with foreman and coworkers to the daily job specifications.
Perform general labor duties when necessary and work with labor crew when not operating equipment.
Operate power driven machinery such as jack hammer tamper or other similarly sized equipment.
Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Work with powered and non-powered hand tools (i.e. rakes shovels etc.).
Work in a variety of positions throughout the day including standing stooping bending at the waist at waist level shoulder height and above the head.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Experience in the operations of heavy equipment
Must be punctual have a strong work ethic and maintain a good attendance record.
Must be able to work as a team on all projects.
Lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work overtime nights weekends as needed.
Stand for extended periods of time.
Reliable transportation
Willing to travel/work out of town.
Must pass a pre-employment physical drug/alcohol screen and background check.

This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
