Operations Manager Night Shift

Here at Amazon we are currently seeking for experienced Operations Managers to join our Customer Fulfillment team at our Fulfillment Center in Lytton Brisbane.

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the AU Fulfillment Center (FC) leadership team whereby you get to drive the success of the site and the team within the operation.

As an Operations Manager youll deliver inspiring inclusive leadership for the teams you supervise. But at the same time you dont shy away from getting involved whenever necessary.

Youll be directly responsible for supervising a team of Area Managers and their direct reports: meanwhile you will report to the Site Lead of your Fulfillment Center. The quality of your leadership is key to achievement in this role: youll motivate and inspire your teams to do their best work while planning schedules and activities that balance their needs with that of the business.

Another key aspect of your role will be to coordinate on numerous process improvement projects with the aim of streamlining all activities both for yourself and the team members you supervise. The ideas innovation and leaps out of the status quo that you come up with could very well be rolled out across the Amazon network: this immense opportunity is yours for the taking.

Please note the shift pattern is set based on 4 nights on and 3 nights off working at least one weekend day. (Wednesday to Saturday)

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area while promoting an inspiring Health and Safety culture on-site
- Become a subject matter expert on specific larger-scale processes and activities within FCs
- In your inventory control and systems environment youll handle timely data collection updating operations metrics on an hourly basis
- Youll aim to achieve productivity targets reduce cost per unit eliminate errors and ensure a high-quality customer experience
- Work closely with other support teams (HR Finance Facilities Safety and Security IT) on staffing plans schedules and performance levels
- Implement process change and contribute in cross-functional Six Sigma initiatives within your site and the broader Amazon Operations network.
- Lead the development of the skills of your direct team as well as act as a coach to other leaders and the whole team around you.
- Build a strong culture of success for the site wide team where everyone is encouraged to fail forwards in the strive for excellence.

- Previous experience in leading large diverse teams
- Experience in employee and performance management experience
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proven experience in a similar innovative logistics distribution or manufacturing environment
- Proven ability in establishing and carry out root cause analysis and then extract and analyse the data you generate
- Work a flexible shift/work area and one day from weekend.

- Completed Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Operations Supply Chain/Logistics or a related field
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills attention to detail and effective communication abilities
- Experience managing contingent workforce in a business with peak season
- Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques
- Knowledge of Lean Kaizen Six Sigma concepts.
