Responsible for all clinically oriented concerns of direct patient care within the Respiratory Therapy Department. The incumbent shall plan organize and assist in the Quality Management activities education programs coordinate co-worker orientation and development. The Education Coordinator will assure that all TJC guidelines are completed. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission values and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Details:
Education: Graduate from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program. Bachelor of Science or actively enrolled in an accredited program. Ten years of Critical Care Experience may be considered as an alternative to a bachelors degree.
Licensure: Meets State licensure requirements.
Experience: Five years critical care and/or teaching experience
Certifications: ACLS certification or completed within 6 months. Must be current in NRP/PALS inworking in neonatal/Pediatric Critical Care areas. Strong assessment and communication skills are necessary. The assessment care and treatment provided by the Education Coordinator will be consistent with the specific age-related needs of the patient. The Education Coordinator is competent to care for patient age groups including the adolescent adult and adult geriatric patient. Computer literacy including the use of Microsoft Office Products.
Other: ECMO trained or completion of program within 6 months Physical demands are attached plus push pull and grip up to 30 lbs. pinch up to 10 lbs. kneel crouch and crawl not applicable.
