Job Description:
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Greek Life the Programming Coordinator for Greek Life will serve as a key advocate for the fraternity and sorority community by supporting initiatives that enhance the learning experience leadership capacity and sense of belonging for members. The coordinator provides comprehensive and cross-functional development to students across affiliated chapters and three governing councils (Interfraternity National Pan-Hellenic and Panhellenic). The coordinator plays a key role in the advancement of departmental and divisional priorities. This position coordinates the planning execution and assessment of office community and collaborative programs for Greek Life.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
- Coordinates all departmental programming including but not limited to: Greek Week Hazing Prevention Week Homecoming Songfest Orientation and Admissions programming athletics partnerships wellness programs and Greek Suite Programs.
- Build capacity for students affiliated with the Greek Leadership Team Order of Omega Honor Society and council programming boards through 1:1 student advising facilitation and leadership skill development.
- Support office operations including compliance chapter accreditation and other administrative needs.
- Align all work with the divisional priorities of Quality Community and Connection with the support and guidance from the Director for Greek Life.

Emphasis on program design and the student learning experience
A primary goal for Greek Life at LSU is to provide intentional out-of-classroom learning experiences and programs that support the development of the community. The Programming Coordinator will support these efforts by establishing learning objectives for all programs and services through curriculum and program design and incorporate high quality facilitation methods.
Cross-functional fraternity and sorority advising
Holistically supporting all members of a sorority and fraternity community requires an unconventional approach to Greek Life work. The coordinator has the opportunity to implement strategies that are high impact relevant moves the entire community forward and that cuts across any singular council by utilizing a cross-functional approach to serving students and allowing advisement across all councils and chapters.

ABOUT THE DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS PRIORITIES:
Three priorities guide our work in the Division of Student Affairs. Foremost we maintain a commitment to quality which is rooted in the belief that LSU students deserve our best effort. Every interaction we have with students should communicate care relevance polish and attention to detail. We work to ensure every space place and staff-to-student interaction communicates a sense of home to students. Finally we design programs services events and experiences with everyone in mind.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Support (60%): Advise the Greek Leadership Team comprised of the student leaders responsible for community programs including but not limited to: Greek Week Hazing Prevention Week Homecoming and Songfest. Advise Order of Omega Greek Honor Society Greek Ambassadors and council support.
Programming (20%): Coordinates the planning execution and assessment of office and collaborative programs for Greek Life including Orientation and Admissions programming athletics partnerships wellness programs Greek Suite Programs etc.
Administrative Support (10%): Provides support for the day-to-day operation of Greek Life through administrative management and departmental expenditures. Coordinates logistics expenditures and operations for Greek Life programs events experiences and services. Responsible for ongoing curriculum design facilitation and assessment of annual Greek Life programs.
Quality Control (5%): Ensures every aspect of programs administrative and financial tasks communication and design exudes a high degree of quality by monitoring data details and systems for all outputs. Embraces and executes the marginal gains approach; seeking to increase the level of all services events programs and experiences in Greek Life for continuous improvements every academic year.
Other Duties (5%): Other duties as assigned by the Director of Greek Life. This includes but is not limited to efforts that support broad divisional and institutional goals including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-in Day Welcome Week Family Weekend Career Expo and Disability Services Finals Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience working with a large residential sorority and fraternity community either on a campus or with an (inter)national headquarters.
- LSU values skills experience and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- 1-2 years of professional experience.
- Experience working with a large residential sorority and fraternity community.
- Experience working at an inter/national headquarters.
- Demonstrated curriculum/learning design experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS:
Ability and willingness to work some evening and weekend hours.

Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional behavioral or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency.
