Bureau: Family Health Maryland Childrens Health Program / Eligibility and Enrollment
The lead or advanced level of work in the Medical Assistance Eligibility and Enrollment Program. Apply interpret and process program-specific information policies regulations and guidelines in a variety of program-related activities. Assign review and approve the work of lower-level Medical Care Program Associates and oversee the work of clerical support staff. Expected to work at a fast pace with efficiency organization and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Minimum requirements include three years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care health insurance or federal or state entitlement program. Knowledge of Medicaid policies Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) eligibility income requirements regulations relevant to health care delivery systems including but not limited to eligibility income requirements immigrant coverage groups household composition and understanding of the difference between Modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) and Non-MAGI populations triage of complex Medicaid eligibility issues to resolve coverage delays. Ability to understand access and operate various computer information systems specifically Google Suites (Gmail Sheets Google Drive Calendar Docs). Knowledge of how to navigate the Medicaid Management Information System Maryland Health Connection Eligibility and Enrollment database and Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE). Ability to lead a team offer training to new staff assist with complex Medicaid cases and investigate to problem-solve coverage issues. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Experience communicating and interacting effectively with co-workers supervisors and members of the public providing timely and accurate assistance and follow-up.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Basic understanding of private health insurance plans available through Maryland Health Connection. Bilingual preferred and must be able to complete a reading writing and speech basic test.
