description:
This department provides triage treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and its services (i.e. Trauma registry trauma coordinators) should not be included here. NCI Required. Moderate Sedation Training required.

Job Requirements:Education and Work Experience:Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN): PreferredAcute care facility experience: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredFacility Specific License/Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: RequiredDepartment Specific License/Certifications:ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): RequiredAHA-PALS: RequiredCrisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM): RequiredNIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS): RequiredEssential Functions:Collects relevant data pertinent to the patients health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data in determining diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan coordinates care delivery and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patients with the team of patient family and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe healing humane and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.
