This department provides triage treatment and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. If the department is designated as a trauma site the hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients is included. However the hours and expenses related to the administration and support of the Trauma program and its services (i.e. Trauma registry trauma coordinators) should not be included here. NCI Required. Moderate Sedation Training required.

Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patients with the team of patient family and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe healing humane and caring environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members.
