Position: Mechanical Validation Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale CA (Onsite)
Salary: $100K-$125K
Exp: 4-10 years
No H1 Transfers
What you will do:
- Develop and execute detailed mechanical validation test plans for wearables covering different areas of lifecycle testing.
- Define validation scope objectives and deliverables for each product phase (from prototype to production).
- Set up and maintain test fixtures equipment and prototype devices for validation activities.
- Work with design hardware and manufacturing teams to align on validation requirements and schedules.
- Participate in design reviews provide feedback on mechanical robustness and suggest design improvements based on test results.
- Collect analyze and interpret test data to identify failure modes and root causes.
- Document and communicate test results issues and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Maintain comprehensive validation documentation and dashboards (e.g. JIRA Confluence).
- Drive resolution of mechanical issues by collaborating with engineering teams during validation phases.
- Proactively unblock teams and adjust focus areas to ensure timely issue closure.
- Contribute to process improvements in validation methodologies test automation and lab infrastructure.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in mechanical validation for wearables.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical validation or testing preferably in consumer electronics or wearables.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical test methods (drop shock vibration thermal humidity IP etc.).
- Experience with test equipment data acquisition systems and failure analysis.
- Familiarity with product development cycles (proto to PVT) and cross-functional project execution.
- Excellent communication documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with risk management and process improvement
