As Intern (Continuing Airworthiness) you will be assisting in the adaptation of Continuing Airworthiness Requirements. You will conduct a review of the documentation supporting the airworthiness risks to the NE-3A and review the records documents and assessments associated with these risks.

Your internship duties will cover a wide span of routine and non-routine functions and creative tasks as order to assist in our mission and work you will bring a fresh and unique perspective latest theoretical and technical knowledge and your own unique social approaches which you will apply through practical work assignments while providing additional staff resources to our Organization.

During your internship you will be

  • Assisting in the development of a consolidated set of continuing airworthiness requirements to be incorporated into a Force Order;
  • Supporting the Operational Airworthiness Branch in daily duties including but not limited to coordination of Operational Airworthiness Authority Authorizations and assisting in the Airworthiness Reviews Program;
  • Developing a Project Plan for the adaptation and implementation (limited scope) of Part 66 and 147 by the NAEW&CF HQ.

About you

For a successful and beneficial working together you must bring the following experience and knowledge to the Organization:

  • Recently graduated engineer;
  • University Degree in aeronautical engineering or related engineering degree;
  • Adequate knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems;
  • The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English. Consequently you must be proficient in the use of the English language in all skills (Listening Speaking Reading and Writing).

The following will be considered as an advantage:

  • Knowledge of EASAs part 66 and Part 147 regulations and/or equivalent regulatory framework;
  • Experience preparing regulatory documents;
  • Experience in conducting airworthiness reviews;
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering Airworthiness Management or similar.

Personal attributes

In this role we are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who is able to work well within a team have sound independent judgement and have the confidence to exercise that judgement when required. Besides you must demonstrate the ability to maintain professional contacts on a daily basis and contribute to the objectives of the Organizational Element.

Eligibility criteria

To qualify for an internship you must

  • be a citizen of a NATO member nation;
  • be age of twenty-one (21) and not over the age of thirty (30) (unless engaged in a PhD program and its field of study is of particular benefit of the Organization);
  • have completed a first degree at a university. The program is open to current Master and PhD students or recent graduates (degree obtained with the last eighteen months);
  • undergo a security investigation with the National Authorities to receive an adequate level NATO security clearance.

Besides in order to take part in the internship program you will have to

  • sign and adhere to our Confidentiality Declaration;
  • have a valid liability health and accident insurance cover (the proof of which must be presented before your internship starts);
  • make arrangements for travel visa accommodation and living expenses on your own.

Screening Process

The Selection Board will convene after the closing date and assess each application package based on clear and objective criteria. They will then provide justified recommendations on short-listing or selecting candidates. Therefore depending on the outcome of the screening process you might be required to undergo an online interview.

Your Internship Contract

You will be offered an initial six month-contract. Your contract will include annual leave in accordance with current regulations. The start date of your internship will be determined taking into account administrative and security requirements as well as other factors such as division needs.

You will receive an internship stipend (a monthly lump sum) in accordance with current policies. The amount you receive is subject to applicable host nation taxation and social security accordance with the current regulations you will be reimbursed for your travel expenses on taking up duty and on leaving the service.
