Location: Toronto Ontario (Hybrid) 2 days on the road and 3 days at home-This role requires approximately 40% of travel.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM with a 1-hour lunch (30 minutes paid and 30 minutes unpaid) with required flexibility to respond to the needs of the business which could include early mornings evenings weekends and holidays.

What your day to day will look like:
You will be reporting into the Health and Safety Manager
Hazard Assessments Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct inspections at the regional offices and warehouses including fire extinguisher inspections
- Complete site visits weekly to conduct inspections of Scandinavian equipment and work sites (primarily janitor rooms)
- Develop appropriate corrective and preventative actions to improve health and safety compliance
- Develop Site Specific Hazard Assessments with support from employees and operations leaders
- Assist with pre-planning non-routine jobs: conduct hazard assessments and verify compliance with training requirements
- Support the Health & Safety team with internal and external audit requirements including Certificate of Recognition (COR) and Cleaning Industry Management Standards (CIMS)
Incident Investigations:
- Investigate incidents and near miss events that occur in the Eastern provinces (Ontario Manitoba)
- Gather findings and complete root cause analysis for serious/major incidents
- Develop appropriate corrective and preventative actions to prevent recurrence
- Ensure all actions are completed with supporting documentation
- Communicate lessons learned to operations teams
Coaching and Training:
- Implement all aspects of the health and safety program in the operations
- Strive for continuous improvement with health and safety performance
- Research and coordinate safety training for employees as required
- Train operations teams to complete Field Level Hazard Assessments Fall Protection Plans and Equipment Pre-Use Inspections
- Communicate expectations with respect to health & safety policies and procedures
- Communicate all changes and revisions to the health & safety program
What youll need to succeed:
- 1 to 2 years experience in health and safety
- Familiarity with Scandinavians Health and Safety Program
- Drivers license and able to travel to multiple job sites as required
- Actively participates in health and safety activities
- Demonstrates taking initiative in creating a safer work environment
- Generates innovative ideas for improving safety systems and processes

- 20-40 minute assessment (depending on optional practice questions or breaks)
- 30 minute MS Teams video interview with the Hiring Manager and direct Supervisor for the role
