ConnectSydney are on the hunt for an experienced Traffic Signals Verification Inspector to join the team!

About the Role

ConnectSydney a joint venture ofServiceStreamBoral andJohnson Controls in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance strategic enhancements and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydneys transport infrastructure.

Reporting into the Network Needs Inspector the Verification Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and reporting on works carried out by contractors on ITS assets to ensure they are delivered in accordance with TfNSW specifications policies and technical directions. Verification Inspector is required to liaise with key stakeholders operating and managing the network.

This role is a blend of working in the office onsite and at home (day and/or night) dependent on the needs of the business. You will also be provided a tool of trade (vehicle) to assist with carrying out your tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting and verifying ITS construction maintenance and modification of traffic system works are completed in accordance with TfNSW specifications policies and technical directions.
  • Interpreting and updating plans and specifications for ITS project works.
  • Use specialised IT software and hardware in the delivery of project and maintenance works.
  • Manage workload and schedule ensuring projects are not delayed.
  • Liaise directly with key stakeholders ensuring construction issues are reported effectively and resolved in an efficient manner.
  • Attend arrange and/or facilitate site meetings and stakeholder inspections.
  • Provide technical support to contractors and maintenance crews.
  • Provide assistance and advice on construction constraints.
  • Identify and raise defects and/or incomplete works.
  • Verify and mark-up work as executed plans.
  • Produce takeover of construction works and inspection and test plans.
  • Updating and recording asset maintenance systems including JAMS and TfNSW systems.
  • Required to travel within the region and work outside normal working hours including weekends.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and possess a qualified Electrical Supervisors Certificate or a qualified Electrical Contractors licence.
  • Current Drivers Licence.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a Roads Infrastructure environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of ITS construction maintenance and modification of traffic system works specifically traffic signals and TfNSW Specification TS101 will be highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in TCS fault finding.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member without supervision and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Work/ Excel/ Outlook).
  • Knowledge of asset management and asset management systems is an advantage.
