TITLE: Transportation Supervisor
EMPLOYMENTTERMS: 1.0 FTE;12-Month position
SALARY CLASSIFICATION:Classified- Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:
TheTransportation Supervisorwillbe responsible formanaginga safe and efficient transportation system that both delivers students on time for the instructional day and enables students to take advantage of curricular and extracurricular activities offered by the districts schools.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
- Ability to deal effectively with matters of confidentiality.
- Developsmonitorsand evaluates the districts transportation system and assigned transportation personnel.
- Coordinates with administrative and district staff to address transportation needs and ensures that the Dispatcher prepares and updates bus schedules and routes for all schools in the district.
- Recruitssupervisesand evaluates all transportation personnel making recommendations on their employment transfer promotion and release.
- Handles all parent and administrative concernsregardingtransportation issues conflict resolution and emergency situations.
- Maintains safety standards in compliance with federal state and insurance regulations and coordinates with the lead mechanic on a program of preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Ensures all bus driver training and certification renewals are completed in a timely manner.
- Complies withall federal and state laws and regulationsregardingschool transportation.
- With theassistanceof the Dispatchermonitorsall buses on transportation runs during normal school day after hours and on weekends.
- Considers all aspects of district curriculum and testing schedules when carrying out the duties of the transportation department.
- Reports all accidents and other unusual events to the Facilities & Transportation Director and other designated authorities as assigned.
- Maintains the federal random drug screening program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:
Highrisk-Work is routinely performed inoutdoor environments including exposure to noiselevels varying from low to mid based on the type of tools or equipment beingused onat any given timeand being on your feet for extended periods of exposure to hazardous materials such as bloodbornpathogens high voltage gases or heat andcold weatherwill beencountered.

- Obtain andmaintaina Valid CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain within45 daysof hire.
- Minimum three years experience in pupil transportation some supervisory experience preferred.

- Post-high school education and/or training preferred.

- Proficiencyin interpreting federal state local mandated programs buildingcodesand environmental rules and regulations.
- General maintenance of electrical mechanical plumbing heating and cooling equipment maintenancematerialsand their proper application; types and kinds of equipment and material used in maintenance repairs.
- Safety guidelines mechanics and equipment operation and repair.
- Experience with safety codesin plumbing electricalcarpentryand HVAC.
- Current federal and state mandated programs including asbestos master meter gas systems and fire systems.
