General Definition of Work
The Technology Analyst supports the effective use of technology across the school district by analyzing implementing and maintaining instructional and administrative systems. The role ensures reliable and secure operation of hardware software and devices to meet district goals and user needs. Working closely with staff the Technology Analyst installs and monitors systems troubleshoots issues provides technical support and testing assistance and recommends improvements to enhance teaching learning and district operations.

Place of Work
The normal place of work is on the premises used by Rock Hill Schools. Rock Hill Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.
Essential Functions
- Administers systems and servers related to district LAN and WAN for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users.
- Assesses malfunctions of hardware and/or software applications for the purpose of determining appropriate actions to maintain computer and network operations.
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work unit.
- Installs/repairs/upgrades computer hardware peripherals network equipment and software and hardware on a variety of platforms (e.g. service packs application software operating software hardware upgrades etc.) for the purpose of meeting district networking and technological requirements.
- Plans the installation of computers and network equipment for the purpose of meeting the technology needs of the district.
- Research software applications and hardware requirements for the purpose of previewing products to provide recommendations regarding applications and purchases and ensuring availability of materials.
- Responds to inquiries of students teachers and other district personnel for the purpose of assisting in the use of various software applications.
- Serves as liaison to software/hardware providers for the purpose of providing and/or gathering information and coordinating district activities.
- Transports various items (e.g. equipment supplies etc.) for the purpose of providing materials at job site or to bring equipment in for repairs.
- Working under limited supervision and following standardized practices and/or methods.
- Utilizing resources from other work units is required from time to time.
- Other responsibilities may be added to meet technological requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge is required to perform basic math including calculations using fractions percents and/or ratios; read a variety of manuals write documents following prescribed formats and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems.
- Specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes Microsoft Word Excel & Access PowerSchool CSI Kronos financial record keeping and other bookkeeping tasks etc.
- Skills are required to perform multiple technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions.
- Specific skills required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include extensive computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word Excel and Access) and district utilities (i.e. PowerSchool CSI Kronos etc.) typing skills 55 wpm planning and managing projects.
- Ability is required to schedule activities meetings and/or events; gather collate and/or classify data; and use basic job-related equipment.
- Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods.
- Ability is also required to work with and appropriately interact with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific job-related equipment.
- In working with others problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans.
- Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited.
- Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include communicating with diverse groups customer service etiquette a must; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team; and working with frequent interruptions.
Education/Experience
- Targeted job-related education that meets the organizational pre-requisite requirements.
- Job related experience within specialized fields with increasing levels of responsibility is required especially in the areas of network connectivity computer troubleshooting skills interactive classroom package and computer operating system configurations.
Special Requirements
- Must have and maintain a valid Drivers License or ability to provide own transportation
- Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning in district-supported technologies
- Holds or willing to obtain one or more of the following certifications: CompTIA A; Apple Certified Support Professional; Microsoft Fundamentals; Google Educator Level 1
Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
- Work requires the occasional exertion of up to ten pounds of force
- Work regularly requires exchange of accurate and detailed information through oral and written communication
- Constantly operates a computer and other office business equipment
- Ability to remain in stationary position for required meetings/work
- Ability to move to other work locations as required
- Visual acuity requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities
- Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications
- Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data operating standard office equipment and the use of advanced technology
- Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office light traffic)
- Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
- Must be adaptable to performing under mild to high levels of stress
