Have you ever seen these warning labels on popular and seemingly innocent products such as fidget spinners or food containers As the Buyer Safety Experience team for Amazon Retail worldwide we aim to raise the bar when it comes to educating and empowering consumers about product safety. Our team is responsible for the complete end-to-end safety experience for buyers from the warnings you see on the product detail pages (and how to turn them into useful actionable information) to making safer product recommendations targeted to each individual consumers needs to informing consumers of recalled products and preventing them from being delivered to their doorstep.
As a founding engineer of the Buyer Safety Experience Romania team youll be able to build the groundwork and influence its direction for the years to come. Our work cuts across various disciplines from delivering an awesome user experience via great UI/UX to building massively scalable distributed systems to support the most high-traffic pages on Amazon worldwide to analytical and feedback systems which give us data-driven customer insights to using GenAI to educate customers about safe shopping choices and safe product use. Key job responsibilities
As one of first engineers of the Buyer Safety Experience team in Romania you will work closely with a growing team and senior engineers. Your role will be heavily customer-obsessed building solutions to ensure Amazon is Earths safest place to shop.
A day in the life
- Deliver results and Insist on the Highest Standards for customer safety
- Ensure a high bar for technical standards building a strong foundation for years to come
- Directly impact the daily lives of customers worldwide
- Be generally awesome
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience with full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations
