Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT) Contract
Location: Hackensack NJ
Duration: 4 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts (Every other weekend and holidays required)
On-Call: Not required

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care within an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will assist with daily patient needs perform basic clinical procedures and ensure a safe and comfortable patient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Registered Nurses with patient care including hygiene comfort meals and transportation
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for patients across all age groups using aseptic techniques
- Conduct EKG procedures and accurately document results
- Monitor and record vital signs glucose levels intake/output and daily weights
- Prepare patient rooms for admissions and maintain a clean and safe environment
- Assist with patient admissions procedures and basic assessments
- Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members to support individualized care
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of recent Patient Care Technician experience in an acute care setting (ED experience preferred)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Completion of a Patient Care Technician program
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) required
- Phlebotomy Certification required
- EKG Certification required
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in vital signs monitoring and glucometer use
- Knowledge of basic patient care procedures
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- English proficiency (reading writing speaking) required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Epic EMR system (training may be provided)
