The House of Commons Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms and Corporate Security is currently looking to staff the Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms position. This position is full time on site five (5) days per week.
About the Role:
In this role you are an armed presence in the Chamber and act as a first responder in the absence of the Sergeant-at-Arms. As such your understanding in security compliance parliamentary proceedings and protective measures is crucial in delivering expert security advisory services and service excellence to the House of Commons Administration Members of Parliament their staff as well as the parliamentary partners.
In addition you manage a portfolio of parliamentary clients and help with the development of customized protocols in order to continue the advancement and improvements of security practices and procedures.

Qualifications :
Education:
- A post-secondary education in a field related to corporate security administration or specialized areas such as physical security emergency management or security investigations or an acceptable combination of education training and experience related to the position.
Experiences:
- Experience delivering specialized security advisory services to senior officials executives or clients in high-profile sensitive or security-conscious environments.
- Experience conducting complex investigations related to security breaches threats or incidents including evidence collection interviewing and producing reports with findings and recommendations.
- Experience conducting threat and risk assessments interpreting intelligence and implementing protective measures across varied operational contexts such as offices residences or public venues.
- Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders and external security or policing partners such as law enforcement protective services or emergency response agencies.
- Experience contributing to the development and implementation of operational security policies and procedures contingency protocols or emergency response measures in alignment with industry best practices.
Assets:
- Required certifications include Firearm Certification Cardiac Intervention First Aid and CPR.
- Knowledge of House of Commons operations including Chamber protocols ceremonial procedures and security measures related to caucus rooms public galleries and offices.
