We are looking for aneditorial administrator Opinion to provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support to editors and writers.

Youll primarily support the Opinion Newsletters Letters Europe Country Diary and Leaders desks being the go-to colleague for your team. However youll be part of a larger administrative function and may be required to support other editorial teams from time to time.

This is a 4-day per week 12-month fixed-term contract or staff secondment.

About the role

  • Act as first point of contact for internal and external incoming messages from colleagues readers and contributors
  • Manage contributor payments ensuring all entries are accurately recorded on a daily basis in the in-house payments system and resolving queries in liaison with contributors editors and the accounts team
  • Process all contributor expense payments ensuring company guidelines are adhered to
  • Maintain and update weekly commissions sheets supporting editors with budget and cost management
  • Help process departmental staff expenses and cash advances in accordance with the current expenses policy flagging any discrepancies with the relevant manager
  • Process departmental invoices efficiently and accurately
  • Arrange and process casual workers bookings and new starter forms ensuring all details are entered on the shift booking system while adhering to the department budget

About you

  • Proven relevant administration experience ideally in supporting teams in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working to tight deadlines
  • Experience coordinating complicated travel itineraries is desirable
  • Experience processing invoices or making payments
  • Experience working with multiple currencies would be desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to maintain professional and collaborative relationships with both internal teams and those external to GNM
  • Ideally youll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role

Youll have 6 weeks (pro rata) of annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
