Thales Sistemas is specialized in Command and Control systems Tactical Communications and Modeling and Simulation addressing solutions in the domain of Defense and Security. Thales is the Spanish leader in tactical LandCIS (Communication and Information Systems)covering all the product life cycle (design development production ILS). Based in Leganés Thales Sistemas employs a highly specialized workforce of more than 100 people most of them engineers that participate in the following activities:

• Communications and Information Systems (CIS)to support Command function and Decision Making:
• Embedded electronics for military aircraft
• Tactical Communications
• Radio Navigation Aids for air traffic

LIFE AS A THALES SYSTEM Project Design Authority

As a Project Design Authority within Thales you will:

• Analyze and understand complex systems with focus on system integration.
• Capture and document operational needs and constraints and translate them into requirements.
• Design and build system architectures based on requirements to fullfil user needs
• Be in continuous contact with stakeholders customers and developers
• Estimate the time and cost needed to complete the deliveries
• Coordinate the execution of the activities and report the progress
• Prepare technical documentation demos and training materials
• Participate in integration and acceptance tests
• Provide explanation and tuition bout the solutions adopted

You will be involved in European projects part of the EDF (European Defence Fund) programmes for 2021-2027 like NOMAD and SENTINEL projects. It will also support other projects of our regular customers both national (Ministerio de Defensa) and international.

CANDIDATES THAT WOULD IMPRESS US

PROFILE:

• You have graduated with a Masters degree of an Engineering School (Electronics Aeronautical/Space Engineering Computer Science ) or in University.
• You have between 5 and 8 experience years in Software Systems Engineering and IVVQ activities.
• You want to update your expertise continuously and design innovative solutions to fit your customers needs
• You want to solve complex problems and be plunged into a challenging environment
• You are recognized as a team player and enjoy collaborative work
• You have synthetic and helicopter view of the organization

You like following the latest trends in innovation

• You are available for travelling (mainly in Europe) approx. 8 weeks a year.

COMPETENCES

Technical competences:

You can quickly understand the system in which you evolve (key stakeholders interactions products environment )

You are familiar with engineering process and solution definition (requirements management system architecture design traceability).

• You are familiar with the energy management concepts understanding electrical grid designs and main performance indicator of electrical sources and sinks.

You are familiar with management and engineering tools such as DOORS EA Polarion TFS JIRA

You have experience with leading engineering projects or activities

You have proven modelling skills and ability to use modelling tools/methods e.g. Enterprise Architect/UML

You are able to work within Agile environment (Scrum) Lean engineering and DevOps culture

You are proficient in the management of performance robustness and cybersecurity

You master Software Design and technologies related to cloud virtualization and containerization

In order to meet project constraints knowing how to schedule decisions and prioritize architectural choices is necessary

You have good skill in collaboration to interact with the other stakeholders in international environments

You are open minded and ready to share your experiences and knowledge

• You must be fluent in English and Spanish.

You must take into account that you should have (or you should be able to get) the Personal Security Clearance to be able to work on EU and/or NATO defense projects.

NICE TO HAVE:

Knowledge about C4ISR systems and related NATO standards and frameworks (FMN NAF STANAGs).

Knowledge about enterprise architecture frameworks like ToGAF DoDAF

Knowledge about geospatial information systems databases and communications
