What youll do
Working alongside a collaborative team and in close partnership with Payroll HR Finance Treasury and external agencies you will play a key role in ensuring accuracy integrity and compliance of large-scale payroll creditor payments GL provision and clearing accounts costing and statutory payroll levies / returns. .
Key Responsibilities
Complete GL open/close processes after each pay run including payroll costing and journals
Manage and prepare for payment post pay run creditor payments (including employee deductions garnishees novated leases etc) Perform month-end and year-end reconciliations and reporting
Support the reconciliation of large-scale payroll provision and clearing accounts and resolution of variances
Support the team to process and comply with superannuation payroll tax and portable long service leave (Coal LSL) obligations
Identify and help to implement process improvement and automation opportunities within the team
What youll bring

Essential Experience
Minimum 2 years payroll accounting payroll tax superannuation LSL or related payroll compliance experience
Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation
High-level Excel skills and strong numerical accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A calm professional approach under pressure
Able to work independently while contributing to team outcomes
Desirable
Exposure to mining industry payroll (including Coal LSL)
Experience with payroll systems such as Oracle HRIS Preceda or Dayforce
Qualifications in Accounting HR or related fields
