NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
TheSuperintendent of Schools Mubenga is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION
STUDENT PLACEMENT OFFICE
CENTRAL CSE CHAIR/ DAILY

DATES:JULY/AUGUST 2026 Number of Days/hoursto be TBD
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have New York State permanent teacher certification in Special Education or as a teacher of students with speech and language disabilities or a teacher of the speech and hearinghandicappedandhave 3-5 years of successful classroom experience in an urban school district.Candidates mustattach a PDF or a screenshotof their certifications.Experience as a CSE Chair isrequired. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of Federal and State regulationspertaining toSpecial Education and extensive knowledge of Individual Education Program development. Candidates should have experience with Frontline IEPincludingmaintainingand accessing reports and listings. Experience in customer service trainingand writing technical documents is preferred.
Priority in theselectionof teachers will be given to qualified permanent/ tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order of summer school school seniority is defined as previous years of BPS summer employment in a classroom setting. Only current and active BPS employees earn summer school seniority.
DUTIES:
TheSpecial Education PlacementCoordinatorsresponsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Obtaining Special Education records from other districts (in-state and out-of-state/country)
- Interpret Special Education Services based on IEPs to determine similarity of need
- Provide placement information to students and families
- Complete placements based on the services recommended by the Committee on Special Education
- Use internal data systems to update pertinent information
- Communicate with special education administrators school building administrators and parents
- Any additional assigned duties deemed necessary and appropriate

Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for ONLY ONE of the summer programs.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training experience credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interview shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: As per the current BTF contractfor daily rate
