Role: Youth Worker (Interim Care)

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time & Casual

Location/s: Blair Athol

Hourly Rates:From $34.58 per hour Super (Dependant on qualifications & experience)

As a youth worker within our interim care team you will provide direct support and mentorship to children and young people (generally aged 9-14 years). The children and young people we care have likely faced childhood trauma abuse or neglect and our homes are often their first experience in a residential care setting.

Your role will be to ensure a safe homelike environment that supports children and young people to thrive learning key life skills including independent living skills problem solving and building appropriate and positive relationships with others.

Our interim care services operate 24/7 therefore it is essential that successful applicants are able and willing to work a roster which regularly includes afternoon sleepover and weekend shifts.

  • Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced childhood trauma have a disability and/or exhibit pain-based behaviours of concern (ideally within a residential care setting)
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement
  • An understanding of the importance of family/kinship connections to children and young people in placement
  • Willingness to assist with activities of daily living including personal care (if required)
  • Able to work a roster pattern that includes shifts across afternoon overnight (including sleepover) and weekends
  • A current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) certificate
  • A current drivers licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check NSW Working with Children Check and NSW Residential Care Workers Register check.
