JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Specialist - Athletics
REPORTS TO:Athletic Director
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt
PAY GRADE: Para 7
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Specialist of Athletics provides administrative and operational support to the Athletics Department serving as a central point of contact for athletic events scheduling and game-day coordination. This position performs duties requiring organization attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Specialist supports district athletic operations across middle and high schools ensuring effective communication and coordination among staff officials and event security.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Graduate/GED
- Two years administrative or paraprofessional support experience or 60 hours from an accredited college or university
Preferred:
- 2 years experience working in a school district or athletics-related environment.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Work effectively in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong public relations and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong computer and word processing skills
- Proficient in math skills/money handling
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Prepare correspondence reports forms and documents related to athletic operations
- Maintain organized files records and documentation including student liability forms
- Process season ticket sales and provide customer support for inquiries related to ticketing
- Order and maintain inventory of office supplies for the Athletics Department
- Submit and track work orders related to athletic facilities and equipment
- Request and confirm security personnel assignments for all Spring ISD athletic events at both middle and high school levels
- Ensure all athletic schedules (Middle School Freshman JV Varsity) are collected from campuses and entered accurately into scheduling systems
- Input game schedules electronically for all sports to ensure on-line ticket purchases
- Act as the first point of contact for communication and pay coordination for officials referees and umpires
- Serve as backup to the accounting coordinator for game reports and entry fee processing
- Assist with batch reporting during payroll processing periods
- Support game-day operations including working Varsity games at Planet Ford Stadium as required
- Provide logistical support for event planning and execution for all athletic programs
- Greet visitors respond to inquiries and provide general information regarding athletic programs and events
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions while maintaining emotional control under stress. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Overtime is required as necessary.
