The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission is acceptingapplications for a Delaware Licensed Equine Veterinary Technician. Thisemployee would be under the direct supervision of the Commission Veterinarians.

Applicants must have educationtraining and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the followingareas:
- Possession of a current Delaware Veterinary Technician license issued by the Delaware Veterinary Board.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required HISA/HIWU registration.
- At least two (2) years of experience working with equines including handling restraint and sample collection.
- Knowledge of safe handling procedures for horses and standard veterinary practices for equine care.
- Knowledge of handling administrative tasks including recordkeeping inventory management and data entry.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating professionalism ethical conduct and integrity.
Additional Posting Information
This is a Casual/Seasonal position which is a non-pension eligible position without healthcare and/or other benefits.
Must have availability to work race days (WednesdaySaturday) and occasional Sundays for special events during theracing season (May through mid-October).
Must have the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and to perform duties that may require physical exertion includinglifting and restraining animals.
Conditions of Hire

All new hires are required to report to the Statewide New Employee Orientation (SNEO) on their first day of employment. Sessions are held at designated locations in Kent or New Castle County.
