Downer Transport & Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Business Support Lead to play a critical role in supporting our Regional Manager and Leadership Team. This is a senior business support position where youll lead a high-performing business support hub and ensure seamless administration financial processes and operational support across the region.

Reporting to the Manager you will:
- Lead and develop the regional Business Support Hub ensuring high-quality timely and consistent support
- Provide senior-level administrative and financial support to the Regional Manager and Leadership Team
- Drive improvements efficiencies and best practice across business support processes
- Oversee financial administration including invoicing reporting month-end processes accruals and cost control
- Ensure compliance with Downer policies procedures and governance requirements
- Act as a trusted leader across the region proactively supporting business strategy and outcomes
This role is both hands-on and strategic requiring strong organisation leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day delivery of administrative and business support activities
- Manage workloads priorities and performance within the business support team
- Support onboarding of new employees and manage site access and registers
- Coordinate executive diary management meetings events travel and approvals
- Oversee depot administration compliance facilities and presentation standards
- Manage PPE and corporate clothing processes and cost tracking
- Partner with Finance Commercial People & Culture Zero Harm and wider support functions
- Actively champion Zero Harm and sustainability embedding safety into everything you do

Youll be a confident collaborative leader with a strong business mindset. You bring:
- Proven experience in a senior business support or administration leadership role
- Strong financial acumen including month-end and cost management experience
- The ability to lead coach and develop others in a high-performance environment
- Exceptional organisational communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Confidence operating at leadership level within a complex operational business
What youll bring
- Certificate in Business Administration Business Management or equivalent experience
- Ideally 5 years experience in a senior business support role
- Experience with financial systems (JD Edwards or similar advantageous)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly SharePoint Word and Excel
- A visible commitment to safety Zero Harm and ethical business practices
- A current NZ Drivers Licence (preferred)
