This position is grant-funded and continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.
Primary Purpose:
Provide instructional and clerical support to adult education and literacy programs by assisting instructors supporting student learning and maintaining accurate program records to promote student success.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Previous clerical office and customer service experience (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support
- Assist students with supplemental coursework as directed by the instructor.
- Support the instructor in providing individual and small group assistance to reinforce learning and check for understanding.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials for classroom use.
Support students in the appropriate use of classroom equipment and instructional tools. - Use instructional materials and assessments as assigned by the instructor or program coordinator.
- Demonstrate respect for cultural differences and support an inclusive learning environment.
Records Management & Documentation
- Assist the instructor in maintaining accurate student records including educational plans and progress documentation.
- Support the administration scoring and recording of diagnostic and instructional assessments.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining student folders and program documentation.
- Collect and organize data for program reports as directed.
- Utilize the TEAMS data system to enter and maintain student information as assigned.
- Organize maintain and monitor instructional materials supplies and equipment.
Program & Classroom Operations
- Organize maintain and monitor instructional materials supplies and equipment.
- Assist with basic program operations including responding to general inquiries and directing individuals to appropriate staff.
- Assist with student recruitment intake and orientation activities as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and special events as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the program and district.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Frequent walking
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks laptop computers and classroom equipment
Environment: Work inside may work outside; regular exposure to noise; availability to work evenings. Program service hours are MondayThursday 8:00 a.m.8:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.
