Job Summary
Transports patients supplies equipment medication medical charts specimens blood products flowers name plates paper (i.e. OR schedules requisitions etc.) in a timely manner
Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Transport patients safely to/from all patient units & designated treatment areas in a timely manner and in accordance with prescribed procedures
- Perform or assist with the movement of patients; assist with transport/transfer of patients from chair/bed bed/stretcher etc.
- Performance of specific environmental and support functions
- Maintenance of required supplies and equipment; ensure equipment used for transport is safe clean and easily accessible
- Practice effective communication and collaboration with other health care members
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required
- Current or previous experience as a transporter preferred
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and/or patients with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to be flexible and self-directed
- Effective interpersonal skillsl
