DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations is currently looking for a Production Planner to join their team in Alexandria Louisiana. The Production Planner plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by developing and coordinating production schedules to ensure timely and efficient execution. This position collaborates closely with the Production Manager Warehouse team Project Managers and Procurement to ensure materials are available when needed workflows remain uninterrupted and production stays on track. The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented and proactive in identifying potential delays helping drive operational efficiency and overall production readiness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build production schedules and collaborate with the Production Manager to prioritize upcoming work.
- Proactively assess material availability to ensure all projects are ready to begin as scheduled.
- Track and verify that all required materials are received and prepared for production at PSS.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Supervisor to identify priority shipments and ensure timely receipt and processing.
- Work closely with Procurement to evaluate vendor performance and ensure on-time delivery of materials.
- Resolve late or at-risk deliveries and maintain accurate status updates.
- Travel to vendor locations as needed to address critical supply issues.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with Procurement to ensure real-time visibility of material status.
- Develop and maintain reports tracking project readiness material shortages and expected delivery timelines.
- Provide regular updates to the Production Manager highlighting risks that may impact production schedules.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure alignment between project timelines and production schedules.
- Support the production team by promptly resolving material shortages and coordinating solutions with Procurement vendors and internal teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Operations Management Business or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years of experience in production planning scheduling or supply chain coordination in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
