Overview
We are seeking an HPC Security Solutions Architect to design and integrate end-to-end security architectures supporting HPC AI/ML and large-scale data-intensive workloads.
This is a customer-facing technically focused role responsible for guiding clients across the full security lifecyclefrom requirements discovery and architecture design through proof-of-concept deployment and ongoing optimization. The role blends infrastructure security identity and access management (IAM) and DevSecOps practices to ensure HPC environments are secure by design across compute storage networking Kubernetes and orchestration layers.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in IAM Kubernetes security and distributed infrastructure security along with the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable compliant and production-ready architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Security Architecture
Serve as the primary security and IAM subject matter expert for customers adopting HPC platforms
Capture security identity and compliance requirements aligned with performance and scalability needs
Lead customer workshops security assessments and architecture design sessions
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
Design and implement IAM architectures including SSO RBAC MFA directory integration and identity federation (SAML OIDC)
Support identity lifecycle management privileged access management (PAM) and secrets management
Enable secure multi-tenant environments with strong identity and access controls
Infrastructure & Workload Security
Design secure architectures across compute storage networking Kubernetes and orchestration layers
Implement Zero Trust principles including strong authentication encryption workload isolation and network segmentation
Conduct security reviews and recommend improvements for resilience and compliance
Kubernetes & Container Security
Provide guidance on Kubernetes security including RBAC admission controllers runtime security and policy enforcement (OPA/Gatekeeper)
Support container security best practices and workload isolation strategies
DevSecOps & Automation
Integrate application security tooling (SAST SCA DAST SBOMs) into CI/CD pipelines
Build automation for secure infrastructure provisioning using Terraform Ansible Python or Go
Promote secure-by-default deployment patterns across environments
Compliance & Risk Management
Align architectures with compliance frameworks including NIST SOC 2 ISO 27001 and CIS benchmarks
Lead proof-of-concept security validations to ensure policy enforcement and compliance adherence
Support ongoing governance and risk management initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering product and security teams to incorporate customer-driven requirements into platform capabilities
Collaborate with DevOps infrastructure and operations teams to ensure secure system integration
Develop reusable security patterns blueprints and best practices
Thought Leadership & Innovation
Stay current on emerging security IAM and compliance trends
Provide forward-looking guidance on secure HPC and AI/ML platform adoption
Represent the organization in customer engagements workshops and industry forums
Required Experience
Proven experience as a Security Solutions Architect IAM Architect or Security Engineer in HPC cloud or distributed systems environments
Deep expertise across:
- Identity and Access Management (SSO RBAC MFA SAML OIDC)
- Infrastructure security (Zero Trust encryption segmentation workload isolation)
- Kubernetes and container security (RBAC admission controllers runtime protection OPA/Gatekeeper)
- Application security tooling (SAST SCA DAST SBOMs)
Strong experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform Ansible Python Go)
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST SOC 2 ISO 27001 and CIS benchmarks
Ability to translate security requirements into scalable enforceable architectures
Strong customer-facing communication skills with experience engaging technical and executive stakeholders
Preferred Experience
Experience designing secure multi-tenant HPC or AI/ML environments
Hands-on experience with PAM tools secrets management and identity lifecycle automation
Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus Grafana and OpenTelemetry for security monitoring
Contributions to open-source security or IAM projects
Certifications such as CISSP CISM CCSP CKS or AWS Security Specialty
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Cybersecurity Engineering or related field
