Job Summary

Reporting into a Director LTD Center of Excellence (COE) as a COE Trainer you will be responsible for optimizing the performance of the LTD operations by supporting the on-the-job coaching and mentoring of new hires following formal in classroom training. Leveraging your disability case management background and in collaboration with the operational delivery team you will ensure the effective and efficient new hire onboarding.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring of new hires up to approximately two months (role dependent) from start date following release from national training program;

  • Create/maintain client specific training materials that may include recorded and/or eLearning modules;

  • Partner with the Shared Services training team to support the goal to be constantly evolving our new hire training programs to meet the needs of our business and staff;

  • Collaborate with the Operational Associate Managers to gradually ramp up caseloads to support success while balancing the needs of the business;

  • Work closely with Operational Associate Managers to support regular feedback on new hire onboarding;

  • Investigate ways to expedite new hire on-the-job learning to support successful transitions into these roles;

  • Encourage motivate and inspire new hires to make an impact and demonstrate Manulife values;

  • Track and document key milestones for the new hire transition into their role;

  • Participate in COE project work;

  • Continually profile areas of opportunity for process and case management tool evolution;

  • Identify training risks and collaborates to initiate risk mitigation process;

  • Facilitate learning through various strategies and methods;

  • Research and implement leading-edge development practices;

  • Meet regularly with trainers across COEs to share best practices and common development themes;

  • Support the transition of new hires to the Operational Specialists ongoing development support.


Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive Disability Case Management experience in LTD;

  • Passion in developing people and the ability to provide constructive feedback;

  • Able to document and communicate complex ideas in a simplified way;

  • Demonstrated strong remote coaching and mentoring abilities;

  • Transparent and concise verbal and written communication;

  • Customer-focused with very strong listening skills;

  • Analytical research problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Proficient and flexible in balancing multiple changing priorities in a demanding deadline driven environment;

  • Knowledge in Adult Learning theories and practices and/or a natural curiosity to learn more about these practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.

Salary range is expected to be between

$59100.00 CAD - $98500.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
