Job Summary

Job Overview:

  • Manage and complete manufacturing engineering related functions pertaining to program management production sales and continuous improvement
  • Investigate and implement process improvements to support operations and production
  • Support the plant floor to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Support operations as requested on plant CI projects utilizing Lean tools(SMED Kaizen Gemba Poka Yoke Heijunka etc )
  • Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning Lifecycle

Duties Description:

  • Internal technical and Lean resource for all departments
  • Support Cost Estimating Quality and production for capacity analysis and feasibility reviews
  • Develop and implement operational standards based on process capabilities
  • Implements and drives compliance to 5S and Visual management activities on the plant floor associated with inventory storage and S & R
  • Support the sales department through material testing as needed
  • Support the continuous improvement process throughout the business utilizing Kaizen events focused driving cost out of the process via productivity improvement scrap and defect reduction etc
  • Conduct process and time studies analysis and investigations to improve manufacturing processes and metrics
  • Utilize Six Sigma(DMAIC) and PDCA to support the plant floor in permanently resolving complex process failures & product defects
  • Utilize a cross-functional team to complete the Lean Assessment and review the results with the organization with plans to improve

  • Project lead for all product launches and / or engineering changes utilizing tracking matrix and white board
  • Validate and optimize manufacturing processes prior to and during PTRs
  • Manage part life cycle process from on time launches to end of life programs without obsolescence
  • Create maintain and manage all prints for new and existing parts as well as die layouts for new tools and tool revisions
  • Responsible for inspecting and verifying finished tooling prior to release to production
  • Accountable for tooling management to include labeling storing tracking obsoleting Mylar tracking and managing tooling database
  • Adhere to all company policies and work within the values and mission statement of the company
  • Other duties as assigned
