We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with strong molecular biology and data analysis skills to join our team at Bayer. This person will work in a very collaborative environment that supports custom gene expression work and enables innovative product discovery and development throughout the Bayer Crop Science division.
Job Description:
The primary responsibilities for this role:
1) Extract high quality RNA and deliver gene characterization (RACE) and associated analysis of data.
2) Track all work through LIMS systems.
3) Collaborative attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
MS or higher education or 5 years experience in molecular biology.
Demonstrated ability in RNA extraction and RNA handling cDNA synthesis PCR and next gen sequencing library creation is required.
Experience with plasmid and primer design and associated software tools
Familiarity with gene expression biology
A professional and positive attitude with clear and timely communication and attention to detail.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with NGS analysis & R coding language.
Familiarity with liquid-handling or higher throughput extraction/data generation.
Proficiency with note-taking and sample tracking through LIMS systems
