Job Title: AV & IT Support Technician (Intermediate)

We are hiring for the role of AV & IT Support Technician (Intermediate). Below are the key details:

Role Overview

This is an intermediate-level onsite IT and audiovisual support role supporting a government agencys Central Office. The technician will set up and operate AV equipment for live events provide Tier 2 IT support monitor the service desk queue and maintain detailed technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up operate and maintain AV equipment including projectors microphones video monitors sound consoles cameras and Teams Rooms for live events

  • Provide Tier 2 support for medium to high difficulty IT issues taking ownership of complex problems through advanced troubleshooting

  • Monitor Service Desk queue and resolve assigned support tickets

  • Install configure and provide user support for software applications operating systems and PC hardware

  • Support live digital meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom

  • Maintain digital signage solutions and training classroom equipment

  • Coordinate service calls and repairs for warranty and non-warranty items; maintain records on all calls

  • Evaluate equipment needs; ensure sufficient spare parts are stocked

  • Provide training on AV equipment use; serve as technical advisor for new AV purchases and conference room renovations

  • Be available for after-hours support as required

Required Skills & Experience
  • Hands-on experience installing and supporting AV equipment (projection systems LCD TVs wireless presentation devices video conferencing hardware)

  • Advanced knowledge of computer software hardware and firmware in PC/LAN/WAN environments

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products: Windows OS Microsoft Office suite and Outlook in a networked environment

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across multiple manufacturers of computers peripherals and AV equipment

  • Ability to plan organize manage and track multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent with at least journey-level work experience in Audiovisual Support and apprentice-level experience in Information Technology support. Some academic or vocational education is preferred.
