Job Description:
Partner with the Manager of Asset Accounting and Senior Principal Accountant support a variety of business transformation projects with a focus on asset accounting systems and processes. Examples include master data design impact assessment system testing & implementation control considerations ratemaking requirements gathering and enablement process improvement and general accounting & month-end close support.

Asset Accounting is a 6-person team responsible for:
What would a day in the life of this role look like:
Participate in design and analysis sessions with Asset Accounting and key stakeholders (IT & business partners). Perform detailed design work over proposed changes (e.g. mapping out master data future state & roadmap to achieve end goal). Perform user acceptance testing over implemented changes. Communicate updates within Asset Accounting and across other groups as necessary to socialize updates & ensure adoption of changes.
Top 3 Must-Haves (Hard and/or Soft Skills):
1. General corporate accounting experience in a large company: journal entries reconciliation intermediate/advanced GAAP.
2. Accounting system project experience (e.g. experience partnering with IT for accounting system enhancements ERP implementations system SOX controls etc)
3. Experience balancing concurrent projects & priorities

1. Utility-specific experience
2. Asset accounting specific experience
3. Intermediate intercompany and merger/acquisition accounting knowledge
Education Requirements (Experience in Lieu of Degree):
Bachelor s degree in business accounting or related field (7 years of accounting experience in lieu)
Certification Requirements (Any Preferences):
CPA preferred but not required
