Position Overview
- Seeking an experienced Agile Developer Level 3 to support a Knowledge Team on a critical intelligence modernization program at Fort Meade MD. This position requires on-site work within a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and an active TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph and their Counter Intelligence (CI) investigation completed within the last five years.
- The selected candidate will contribute to modernizing a legacy operational system using a microservices-based architecture and cutting-edge cloud-native technologies. This is a collaborative Agile-driven environment where clear communication and cross-functional teamwork are essential to delivering mission-critical software.
Key Responsibilities
Microservices Development
- Design and develop Java Spring Boot-based microservice applications leveraging AWS-native technologies
- Utilize Python to optimize AWS services including Lambdas Step Functions EC2 and S3
- Build REST services with Spring capable of filtering and selecting complex data objects
- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions to modernize legacy operational systems
CI/CD & DevOps
- Implement CI/CD principles using Maven GitLab and GitOps workflows
- Work with containerization and orchestration tools including Kubernetes and Docker
- Leverage Ansible for configuration management and automation
Cloud & Data
- Operate within the AWS ecosystem including OSS DynamoDB Lambdas and CloudWatch
- Design and query NoSQL data models using MongoDB and DynamoDB
- Implement Elastic Search and Open Search solutions for data retrieval and indexing
- Apply OAuth/OIDC implementation patterns for identity and access management
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning backlog grooming and retrospectives
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members technical leads and stakeholders
- Develop and execute automated test frameworks using Cypress and Cucumber
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent experience/combined education
Experience
- 9 years of relevant software development experience with a Bachelors degree; OR
- 7 years of relevant software development experience with a Masters degree
Required
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph. Counter Intelligence (CI) investigation completed within the last 5 years.
- Experience working with the AWS tool suite including OSS DynamoDB Lambdas and CloudWatch
- Proficiency in 3 or more of the following:
- Java Spring Boot or Python (strongly desired)
- Elastic Search and/or Open Search (strongly desired)
- Microservice architectures
- CI/CD Tools: AWS tools Maven GitLab & GitOps Kubernetes Docker Ansible
- NoSQL / MongoDB / DynamoDB query and schema design
- OAuth/OIDC implementation
- Test frameworks and automation including Cypress and Cucumber
