As an Air Foil Bearing Engineer you will support AFB development engineers with daily activities on Shaft & Bearing (S&B) core and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
Responsibilities include:
- NPI
- Support AFB engineers in executing projects for fuel cell IAC and e-cooling GBEs
- Activities include:
- Rig data analysis (using Rig BI Excel Matlab and other tools)
- Inspection data review
- Draft engineering reports
- Write process instruction documents
- Cooperate w/ Advanced Manufacturing Engineers (AME)
- Science/Core Projects
- Support geometry vs performance correlation activities by performing data analysis running ANSYS simulations as needed
- Rig support
- Support lab & AFB dev engineers w/ daily activities including data analysis rig operation inspections rig rebuild/commissioning & root cause analysis
- Write lab procedure documents
Basic Qualifications:
- Student pursuing a Mechanical Engineering bachelors degree
- Relevant coursework
- Proven problem-solving skills including ability to interpret data define actions and implement solutions to ensure flawless launches
- Expertise in rotor dynamics and air foil bearing technology and design is desired
- Strong knowledge of NPI process and understanding product and process design tradeoffs
- Capability to plan and execute complex projects with cross functional teams
- Hands-on approach multi-tasking and focus on cost effectiveness
- Strong communication skills

Thepay for this role is:
