Who we are looking for
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team in a hybrid contract manufacturing and consultative design environment. This role reports directly to the Site Controller and plays a key part in supporting both manufacturing operations and business development efforts. The Cost Accountant will partner closely with cross-functional teams to analyze current product costs evaluate sales data and develop accurate pricing models for new business opportunities.
What youll get to do
- Analyze and maintain standard costs for products including materials labor and overhead
- Partner with manufacturing teams to review production processes identify cost drivers and recommend efficiencies
- Evaluate current cost structures and sales data to support pricing strategies and profitability analysis
- Develop detailed cost estimates and pricing models for new business proposals and customer quotes
- Monitor and report on cost variances including material usage labor efficiency and overhead absorption
- Support monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes related to inventory and cost accounting
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities particularly related to cost of goods sold and manufacturing expenses
- Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation and compliance with accounting standards
- Collaborate with engineering operations and sales teams to align cost assumptions and business strategies
- Continuously improve costing methodologies and reporting tools
What you bring to the team
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
- 3 years of cost accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in contract manufacturing or design-to-build environments is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments and present financial insights clearly
- Strong understanding of standard costing variance analysis and inventory accounting
